The region of Almeria is an arid landscape with some outstanding areas of natural beauty.

Spaghetti Westerns such as ' a Fistful of Dollers, Two Mules for Sister Sara, The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, Lawrence of Arabia have all been filmed in this region.
Coastal resorts of Mojacar, Garrucha, Vera, Roquetas de Mar are within easy reach.

The Cabo de Gata national park, designated a Biosphere Reserve by the UNESCO in 1997, covers some 38,000 hectares of land. Its sub-desert landscape and coastline make it one of the most important areas of marine life in the world.

Cantoria is nestled between the spectacular mountain ranges known as the "Sierra de Los Filabres" and the "Sierra de Las Estancias" in the Almanzora Valley.

The nearest town of Cantoria (5 mins drive) has a small supermarket, fishmonger, bakery, tobacconist, post office, several tapas bars and cafes, and a spectacular church in the town centre. With small winding streets lined with orange trees, this is your archetypical Spanish town. The larger town of Albox (10 mins drive) has a typical Spanish market every Tuesday which winds through the streets into the Rambla (dry river bed). Cantoria holds their market on a Wednesday.

The Parque Aquatico Vera is a popular tourist attraction, as is Oasys, previously known as Mini Hollywood, and the Cuevas de Almanzora.
Fiestas are plentiful, many celebrating the battle between the Moors and Christians.
